The arrogance at Microsoft is amazing.

And that's why we love them so. Despite all my "rants", I try to give Microsoft credit, and I've certainly never badmouthed it as an investment. But institutional arrogance seems to be sort of de riguer there. It even got to old Fred Moody after awhile. Then, when the PR tide goes against them, we get the "poor aggrieved Microsofty" posture. Nobody likes them, everybody hates them, guess they'll go eat worms. The long-term Microserfs can certainly afford a lot of worms at this point, and I don't begrudge them that. Anyway, Bill just has to go on Barbara Walters and make everybody feel warm and cozy again.

I don't know, either they have this secret PsyOps department to drive everybody crazy, or the Economist was right and they're like the Moonies. Who will deprogram Microsoft? Or are we doomed to all be programmed by them? Another example of the duality of man, I guess.
