The election came in as expected. Trump lost a number of voters he secured in 2016. He made plenty of mistakes with Covid, China, divisiveness, threatening the media, allowing zero dissent from his supreme opinion, separating children from the parents at the border as deterrent just to name a few. Had Covid not hit he probably would have been reelected, but that doesn't matter now.
Even in the end he had several opportunities that he just blew. The first debate was awful. Once again his supporters loved it, but it didn't play well with others. Some of those independents voted early and Trump lost the opportunity.
Again, he gets Covid personally. Would have been an excellent time for him to show some humility for those who fought and lost and the long haulers. He blew it again and made it all about him. Most people do not get helicopter rides to hospitals and access to unapproved drugs/treatments.
He barely won in 2016 w/some very small vote counts in swing states. People were looking for change and they took a chance. Different story in 2020.
Despite all of this this supporters and now saying it's rigged and in many cases Fox is too liberal. What a joke.
Trump is doing massive LT damage undermining the democracy. I'm fine if he wins but it has to be legit. Votes are not done being counted, but even if Biden loses PA he's likely to hold WI, MI, NV and AZ.
Republicans are all about vote suppression. It's worked up until now. But they better start broadening their base because demographics do not favor them. Playing to your base and governering for only 40% of the people isn't going to cut it long term.
Trump makes the left more radical w/his speech/tone/actions. Once again his base loves it, but it hurts their brand long term and makes socialism more likely LT. |
