Len, Because Jesus is the message...any other message is not Jesus....
NO other message is the same.....There are lots of messengers but if they come not with the message of Jesus, then it is a false message....
You ask, "why would it even matter if Jesus ever esixted or He was not the Messiah"
If Jesus never existed there would be no way to be reconciled to God. We would be forever separated from our Loving Father with no hope of salvation.
But we do have hope of salvation, because Jesus does Live, and He is the Messiah.....He not only lives, but He came into this world for that purpose.......He took on Him the sins of the world, He suffered and died, and was resurrected, all for the love of us. You Len...And all we have to do is believe, and go to Him with a repentant heart.. And we are instantly reconciled to God our Father...Oh what a Savior we have in Jesus. It is not just a message...It is Life Itself..
