I still maintain also that there is something amiss in the system...can't pin it down to either the store, buyer, or Radica supplying.
Visited big Toys R US...They were well stocked, but NO kids bass and haven't carried it. Plenty of the other games, vision games, some shortages on battleship but rest of the mix was good.
Then there is Target that has has 4!slots ready for tank and sub since just after christmas and still NOTHING...and they are not sold out, they haven't got any. However, all Lunkers sold out, many kids and bass are selling well.
Big Walmart has good selection of everything, but no deep sea. I talked with the floor person for quite a while and she was very confident in the continued sales of the fishing games. They have been steady sellers, although not at prechristmas levels...of course.
Tank and sub doing well...most of the casino games with decent stock, but battleship and yahtzee out of stock.
She had given a bass fishing to her father, a fisherman, and "he sits there and plays with it for hours".
I wish I had a better handle on what it was like at this time last year and whether or not this is normal, better, or worse. Of course the best thing is that there is more shelf space than ever before, but that will only pay off if it's got something in it. I would worry some that Tiger and MGA, since they both have some big guns would start to take back slots that are unoccupied such as the case in Target.
We don't want to lose the valuable space we have gained.
So as to this quarter I don't know if it will be as good as expected, although certainly it will come through better than last year. But is this good enough? Hope so.
