As far as copy-protection is concern, there is no fool-proof. It just make the game "appear" to be harder to clone. There is a device called something like "Doctor64" which let you copy N64 cartridges.

Ya, but if they used ZIP disks with the program on it you now have access to millions of computers that "COULD" copy the game. You think they would have code in there that would prevent it.

As far as CD goes, I see your point on the low cost of CD's, and high capacity, but do you think another reason for thinking of a more durable disk is because they want it KID PROOF? Scratch a CD and its toast.

Also, it seems to me some of these manufactures like to have closed systems, so they can have controll of their products.
