donsurber.blogspot.com Highlights of the News

Anonymous comments are back on.

Donald John Trump is still our president and he may get a 4-year extension on his contract without the Supreme Court.

ITEM 1: The Washington Times reported, "Demonstrators identifying themselves as Antifa vandalized a Democratic campaign office in downtown Portland, Oregon, smashing windows and spray painting F— Biden and other profane messages on its walls, police said Monday.

"The damage occurred late Sunday, resulting in the arrest of three people, the Portland Police Bureau said."

Play with fire, get burnt.

ITEM 2: Stat News reported, "Pfizer and partner BioNTech said Monday that their vaccine against Covid-19 was strongly effective, exceeding expectations with results that are likely to be met with cautious excitement — and relief — in the face of the global pandemic.

"The vaccine is the first to be tested in the United States to generate late-stage data. The companies said an early analysis of the results showed that individuals who received two injections of the vaccine three weeks apart experienced more than 90% fewer cases of symptomatic Covid-19 than those who received a placebo. For months, researchers have cautioned that a vaccine that might only be 60% or 70% effective."

Jim DeMint tweeted, "Wait, the vaccine was known to be successful weeks ago?? Fauci, Biden, media mocked Trump at this time for saying vaccine was close. The October announcement just happened to be delayed AFTER the election? We need answers from corporate & government officials."

Deep State has 6 ways to Sunday to get at you.

Ryan Saavedra reported, "Less than 1-week after the election, Dr. Anthony Fauci says that news of the Pfizer vaccine means that people could start getting vaccines this month, adds: 'We would be giving vaccine to people very likely before the end of this year.'"

President Trump promised a vaccine by the year's end.

Another promise fulfilled.

ITEM 3: Steve Sailer reported, "We're Saved! Biden's COVID Science Team Will Have Intersectional Pokemon Points Galore."

He cited a New Haven Register report on Marcella Nunez-Smith, one of the 3 people Biden tapped to head his covid 19 response team. It has 3 heads just like Cerberus.

The story said, "According to her biography on the Yale School of Medicine website, Nunez-Smith’s 'research focuses on promoting health and health care equity for structurally marginalized populations with an emphasis on supporting health care workforce diversity and development, developing patient reported measurements of health care quality, and identifying regional strategies to reduce the global burden of non-communicable diseases.'"

Don't laugh. She is a rainmaker for Yale who rakes in millions in federal grants with her "equity research." It may be a charade but it is a lucrative one.

ITEM 4: RT reported, "Former US envoy to Russia Michael McFaul is unhappy that Moscow hasn’t declared Joe Biden the election winner without official results, apparently tossing aside years of hysteria about Kremlin meddling in US internal affairs.

"McFaul, who became one of the most outspoken proponents of the debunked theory that Moscow colluded with the Trump campaign in 2016, expressed his disappointment on Twitter that Russian President Vladimir Putin has yet to offer his congratulations to the Democratic nominee, who declared himself president-elect on Saturday."

Yes, Pravda TV is a more trustworthy site than the New York Times, which I don't link.

Vox Popoli reported, "Chinese president Xi Jinping has so far held off sending a congratulatory message to the new US president... Saudi Arabia has stayed silent on the election results."

Mexico's president also is waiting for the final result.

They do not want to risk the Wrath of Don.

ITEM 5: Just the News reported, "More than a third of registered voters believe Donald Trump legitimately won the presidential election, according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

"Less than half of all respondents — 49% — believe Joe Biden legitimately won the race, while 34% said they believe Trump won the election, and 16% said they are not sure who really won."

I believe Biden is among the 16%. Of course, he is unsure of anything.

ITEM 6: Reuters reported, "President-elect Joe Biden’s campaign on Sunday urged the Trump political appointee who heads the U.S. General Services Administration to approve an official transition of power despite President Donald Trump’s refusal to concede."

The Trump appointee in charge said not until there is an actual winner.

Gotta win before you get in.

ITEM 7: National File reported, "President Donald Trump has fired Secretary of Defense Mark Esper after reports surfaced that the political appointee was covertly assisting Joe Biden’s transition team, despite votes still being counted and litigation underway in virtually every battleground state.

"In his typical fashion, President Trump announced Esper’s departure as he heralded his replacement, Christopher C. Miller. 'I am pleased to announce that Christopher C. Miller, the highly respected Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (unanimously confirmed by the Senate), will be the Acting Secretary of Defense, effective immediately.'"

A second tweet said, "Chris will do a GREAT job! Mark Esper has been terminated. I would like to thank him for his service."

Do a good job, get promoted.

Suck up to the swamp critters, termination.

ITEM 8: OANN reporter had some fun on Twitter.

Live shot of @foxnews right now pic.twitter.com/3lwSKMhHHg

— Emerald Robinson ?? (@EmeraldRobinson) November 9, 2020 The big election winners in the TV category are CNN, Newsmax, and OANN.

Losers, well, Thelma and Louise are having fun flying through the air right now, but....

ITEM 9: Politico reported, "House Democrat campaign chief Cheri Bustos announced Monday that she would not seek reelection, days after an unexpected string of losses that could end up costing the caucus nearly a dozen seats.

"Bustos’ campaign arm has faced intense scrutiny since Democrats’ stunning defeat on Tuesday, with battleground Democrats arguing she did little to protect them from stinging GOP attacks and that she pursued an overly aggressive strategy in impossible-to-win districts in states like Texas and Arkansas.

"Heading into election night, Democratic leaders confidently predicted they would grow the House majority they won in the midterms. But they have so far lost seven incumbents and more are likely to follow in California and New York, and shell-shocked Democrats have demanded to know what went wrong."

Democrats are singing that Roy Clark song, "Thank God and Greyhound She's Gone."

This is not a case of a rat leaving a sinking ship.

They threw her overboard.

But hey, Democrats can keep telling themselves Biden won. He's like the Old Maid. He has no man date.

ITEM 10: Politico also reported, "Republican-controlled state governments on Monday began throwing their weight behind President Donald Trump’s legal drive to challenge the results of last week’s presidential election.

A coalition of Republican attorneys general filed an amicus brief at the U.S. Supreme Court urging the justices to formally take up and resolve a dispute from Pennsylvania over a ruling that the state’s Supreme Court issued in September granting three extra days for the receipt of mail-in ballots cast in last Tuesday’s election.

The 10 attorneys general aligned their states with arguments from Trump’s presidential campaign, the Pennsylvania Republican Party and a pair of GOP state legislative leaders that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision usurped powers that the Constitution reserves for state legislatures."

We will see if a judge says they have standing, but I live their moxie.

ITEM 11: The New York Times alleged, " Attorney General William P. Barr, wading into President Trump’s unfounded accusations of widespread election irregularities, told federal prosecutors on Monday that they were allowed to investigate allegations of voter fraud before the results of the presidential race are certified.

"Mr. Barr’s authorization prompted the Justice Department official who oversees investigations of voter fraud, Richard Pilger, to step down from the post within hours, according to an email Mr. Pilger sent to colleagues that was obtained by The New York Times."

If true, hahaha.

What a lazy carbuncle.

His job is to investigate voter fraud, and when the work arrives, he quits.

But NYT is an untrustworthy site that spreads conspiracy tales such as Putin colluding with President Trump to steal the 2016 election. I won't link such a site.

ITEM 12: Quote of the day.

Life News reported, "Back in August, in an interview with her former communications director Jennifer Palmieri for Showtime’s The Circus, pro-abortion Hillary Clinton had strong words for pro-abortion Joe Biden’s campaign: 'Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out and eventually I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is.'"

Once again, Hillary's words boomerang.

Are we sure she is not part-Australian?

ITEM 13: The Daily Mail reported, "Fox News anchor Sandra Smith was caught reacting incredulously to a guest casting doubt over the legitimacy of Joe Biden’s election win over the weekend, frowning and rolling her eyes while she was off-air.

"In a leaked clip circulating online, the host of America’s Newsroom was heard exasperatedly asking ‘what is happening’ as DC-based lawyer Cleta Mitchell repeated Donald Trump’s unfounded accusations of widespread election fraud.

"‘I think everybody wants to know that this was done properly and legally and we can trust the results,’ Mitchell, who was being interviewed by Fox News’ Trace Gallagher, said. ‘And I think we have to look into every one of these concerns.

"‘Remember, just because CNN says, or even Fox News says that somebody's president doesn't make them president,’ Mitchell continued."

And Neil Cavuto shut off the White House press briefing in mid-conference because he did not want to hear what Kayleigh McEnany was saying.

The wheels are coming off that mint-condition 1966 Thunderbird convertible that Roger Ailes left them.

ITEM 14: The VA announced, "Veterans Day 2020 is on Wednesday, Nov. 11th, 2020. This Veterans Day discounts list will continue to be updated as we learn of more nationally available Veterans Day discounts, meals or other ways businesses and organizations want to give back to Veterans. These Veterans Day discounts, free meals and other programs are being shared so that Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors are aware of all resources available to them.

"Due to COVID-19, some organizations are now offering discounts to Veterans all the time instead of their regular Veterans Day discounts. These adjustments help Veterans take advantage of the discounts offered while avoiding the usual Veterans Day crowds. A new section at the bottom of this story will list all the year-round Veterans discounts."

It is sad that restaurants have to discount all those meals just to stay open.

I always felt guilty about Veterans Day discounts.

On the other hand, they want our business. Check out the list and non-veterans should too. They support those who served.

ITEM 15: CNBC reported, "CBS’ slate of reality shows, which include Survivor, Big Brother and Love Island, will become more diverse in 2021.

"On Monday, the network introduced an initiative that requires these shows to ensure that 50% of their casts are Black, Indigenous or People of Color, or BIPOC. Additionally, the network has committed to putting at least 25% of its development budget towards creators and producers who are BIPOC.

"These reality TV targets will kick off during the 2021-22 broadcast season."

I guess they want to show that white people aren't the only weirdos.

ITEM 16 Karen Kataline reported, "New Judicial Watch Study Finds 353 U.S. Counties in 29 States with Voter Registration Rates Exceeding 100%."

The turnout in the entire state of Colorado was 102% of registered voters where they vote early and often.

ITEM 17: Kane at Citizen Free Press reported, "Twitter exploded tonight with tens of thousands of tweets claiming RealClearPolitics had changed their electoral map and removed Arizona and Pennsylvania from the Biden column.

"Essentially everyone fell for it, except for CFP.

"I immediately checked the Wayback Machine and saw that RCP had never called those states for Biden to begin with, but apparently no other journalists bothered to check and they all published fake news. Now everyone, including the notoriously unreliable Gateway Pundit, has been forced to correct their stories.

"The lack of fact checking on this story is embarrassing."

I agree.

If it looks too good to be true, it is.

ITEM 18: Why I like Mitch McConnell: he pushes back.

Via PJ Media, he said on the Senate floor, "Let’s not have any lectures, no lectures, about how the president should immediately, cheerfully accept preliminary election results from the same characters who just spent four years refusing to accept the validity of the last election and who insinuated that this one would be illegitimate too if they lost again — only if they lost.

"The people who push this hysteria could not have any more egg on their faces than they do right now."

He is a good man doing as best he can with a Republican caucus that has more strays than a dog pound.

ITEM 19: The Star-Tribune reported, "Minneapolis officials are considering bringing in officers from other jurisdictions to help the city's Police Department as they face a wave of violent crime and an officer shortage.

"If the mayor and City Council approve the plan, officers from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and Metro Transit Police would temporarily work with the city, primarily helping to respond to violent 911 calls."

Only a fool would take up that offer.

Going to Minneapolis puts your life on the line only to be charged with murder if some higher-than-a-kite druggie dies in custody.

Not even Barney Fife would go.

The city and its citizens chose to stiff law enforcement. Let BLM take on the bad guys.

Oh wait. They are the bad guys.

ITEM 20: Ace of Spades reported, "Leaked Fox News Internal Ratings Show "Catastrophic" Loss of Audience."

They owned Election Night with 14 million viewers.

Then Chris Stirewalt called Arizona for Biden. Three days later it fell to third behind CNN and MSNBC.

Ace wrote, "They're in a corporate crisis. Yes, there will be attempts here and there to continue Conning the Rubes, and some people will be tasked with Outreach to the Rubes.

"But this is not a decision recently made. Fox -- the News Division -- has been trending hard left for years and years, and have ignored our protests and complaints about it."

Ace laid into Fox. Hard.

Newsmax TV and OANN are always there for you.

Technology is cheap. We've gone from telegrams that charge you by the word to blogging in about 150 years,

22 years ago, Fox fought to get access on cable. Now there really are 500 channels -- and people are ditching them for streaming services.

Twitter has a hashtag #FOXEXIT.

I would call it FOXIT.

Conservatives don't need Fox.

Fox needs us.

From first to last in just 3 days. It is like Fox is a Cleveland sports team. But really, this is Trumpenfreude.

ITEM 21: The New York Post reported, "Gov. Cuomo emerges as stumbling block to New York rollout of Pfizer covid 19 vaccine."

After months of DEMANDING a cure for covid 19, Fredo's dumber brother finally has a vaccine but he may

Why?

He hates President Donald Trump.

Cuomo told ABC, "We can’t let this vaccination plan go forward the way that Trump and his administration is designing it."

The Soup Nazi on the Seinfeld show said, "No soup for you!"

This idiot governor says to his residents, "No vaccine for you."

FINALLY, I was never comfortable with calling the soup seller a Nazi. He was just a guy not taking any lip from Jerry Seinfeld.

The Lid reminded me why I don't like throwing the word Nazi around.

Jeff Dunetz wrote, "Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, was an anti-Jewish pogrom in Nazi Germany on November 9th-10th, 1938.—it was much more than just a pogrom. Kristallnacht was the day Hitler’s final solution came out of the closet with anti-Jewish riots in Germany, Austria, and the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia. Kristallnacht the Holocaust began

"Kristallnacht is viewed by many historians as the beginning of the Jewish genocide of the Holocaust. In a coordinated attack on Jewish people and their property, 99 Jews were murdered, and 25,000 to 30,000 were arrested and placed in concentration camps. Two-hundred and sixty-seven synagogues were destroyed, and thousands of homes and businesses were ransacked."

It was not a few storefront windows broken.

It was 99 murders.

25,000 people arrested.

267 synagogues destroyed.

Let's restrict the word Nazi to describing real Nazis only.
