<< Joseph, i believe you are correct. but i submit your last sentence would be more accurate if it read "is that SyJets technology is the same as the original Zip drive with respect to the EPP-SCSI interfacing" . It may be semantics but facts are facts. >>

Actually, I refuse to give either companies credit for coming up with the EPP-SCSI converter. Adaptec and other companies sold EPP-SCSI converters since about 1992/93.

I find it amazing that SCSI devices continue to extract such high premiums over equivalent IDE drives. Yes, I'm sure there's more "stuff" (electronics and software) to support SCSI, but $100+ worth?!?

It's too bad PC makers never standardized on SCSI. Back in early 90's, higher-end PC makers like IBM tried to add SCSI as a standard part of their systems. The cable may have been bulky, but it would have made plug-and-play solutions much more available. (Witness the Mac.) For those of you running NT (and even 95 users who want to wring the last drop of performance), do yourself a favor and get a good SCSI card and a good SCSI hard drive. You'll wonder how you ever got along without them.
