Yes I have had that baloney tossed at me also.. thing is one person one vote IS a democracy ... folks who like memes are prone to that BS...

the details are in how the votes are used to elect representatives... a pure democracy is what you guys have on proposition this or that.. or our referenda up here on Quebec sovereignty and constitutional reform (Charletown for example) and your founding fathers did not want that as the de facto mechanism.. Wisely I might add.. they were 100% on the right track.. Hence the EC in lieu of a Brit parliamentary system.. BOTH are representative democracies designed to prevent the little guy from being overrun.. They did try to ensure a system that protected them.. the rich.. however the greatest fear was the rabble and plebiscite.. and in that they were again I say bang on although I have been critical of them.. they were bang on.. because in the end (now) they protected everyone...
