I don't see how this could be as cost effective as a dedicated modem. Furthermore, you can't trivialize the investment that goes into the development of a deployable DMT transmission. You don't just buy a chip and pop it on your board. The standards are in a state of flux, and those that are in the DMT camp have the best opportunity to lead. On the other hand, those that have bet on CAP will have some internal religious and technical barriers to wade through before they will be ready. Just a thought.
