Please enter me in the contest with the following picks:

VISX - This company makes laser vision correction systems and holds in partnership with another company the rights to a number of patents covering the laser vision correction process. Thay make more money (and have very high margins)on royalties from the patents ($150/per procedure) than they do on actual equiptment sales. Their stock price has been hurt by some pending litigation and the asian crisis. They were just approved by the FDA to treat more severe cases of myopia.

WSTL - This company makes modems and other equiptment for ADSL. They have strategic alliances with Lucent and Texas Instruments and have contracts with Bell Atlantic and GTE. Their stock is trading fairly low right now because of a number of factors including falling along with the other techs over the Asia thing, uncertainty over the reality of ADSL, regulatory problems the RBOCS are having getting ADSL going, and fierce competition from some pretty powerful companies. I'm hoping ADSL becomes reality in '98 and WSTL becomes a success. They don't quite meet all your criteria because they made money in the past quarter only because of a one-time payment from Texas Instruments and they've lost money in prior quarters. But they are a fundamentally strong company and only have negative earnings because they are ramping up to sell a lot of ADSL equiptment.
