"What we need is news that the huge egos on the Board of Directors realize that their present management can't compete in the marketplace despite great products. The solution is to sell the co to someone who can market the products. What major networking co is weak in remote access?"

Another solution would be to develop their worldwide distribution, which we had offered to do, but recieved nill response.

I personally sold Proteon Token Ring products in the late '80s (P1344 etc. if I recall correctly)and found them to be excellent competitive products.

In my opinion, Proteon should have gone up market with their product development instead of going into a market that was already well covered by many companies with better distribution and greater experience in the 'consumer' end. You have to sell a lot of $1000 routers to make some decent money.

Nevertheless, since they are now in that end of the business, it would seem to make sense to expand their worldwide sales but we see no evidence of these being done.

Oh well, hope they get their act together and rise to the top again...
