11/13/2020 Contest update
(Contest and Index YTDs are calculated from 1/3/2020 close.)
Short sellers with triskaidekaphobia had their phobias confirmed Friday as bullish investors presumably concluded that a Biden administration would succeed in killing the coronavirus without killing the economy
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 15.25% YTD (vs. up 14.70% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 19.41% YTD (vs. up 17.24% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 33.84% YTD (vs. up 28.28% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 31.13% YTD (vs. up 31.86% YTD a week ago).
Contest leader JBOG’s portfolio pulled further ahead finishing the week with a spectacular 260.54% YTD gain. Although not matching the dazzling performance of JBOG’s portfolio, second place FILO’s portfolio, up 159.59% YTD and third place MASTER’s portfolio, up 109.79% YTD, also deserve lots of Wall Street cred.
At Friday's close, 30 of the 42 Contest portfolios were in the green, with 20 beating the NBI and 12 beating the SPSIBI.
The 197 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 27.40% with the median still in the red with a YTD loss of -1.03%.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks for the week ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: None.
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits & mergers, greatly appreciated.)
Enjoy a safe and relaxing weekend biotechies.
Don’t forget to wear your mask and social distance.
Peace & good health,
Bulba
