Ben - I haven't seen any of those "prude, arrogant, purse-lipped Puritans" who "act as if they are the progenitors of the God Almighty Himself" rambling back and forth across the thread making broad, rude, humourless characterizations of those who have a different viewpoint. May I be excused if I indulge in a little irreverent humor at the President's expense? I am under no constraint to adopt an attitude of humble reverence towards the man, nor do I feel that adopting a humorous attitude condemns me as one who has led an unexamined life. Seems to me that those who are freaking out about a humorous outlook are the "prude, arrogant, purse-lipped Puritans"
Frankly, I don't give a rats heiny about the man's personal life or how he gets off. May I point out that Clinton is the one who apparently cannot separate his private life from his public responsibilities. Give me a break, the man used the Arkansas State Patrol as his personal pimp squad, now he apparently continues to view his subordinates as the personal stable of his own private stud farm. So far we have heard of 5 women subordinates who have been the objects of his attention, several of whom were subjected to the crudest, rudest of sexual advances. Just try this kind of behavior in the real world and you will have your head handed to you before you realize you have been booted out into the street. Excuse me for laughing at our Nation's Chief Executive when he indulges in behavior for which the junior manager or produce clerk at my local Safeway would be crucified. It really isn't that funny. |
