Red states don't want to shoot people. That is hyperbole and I'm sure you don't even believe that, which puzzles me that you'd even say that. Red states just want to be left alone. 99% of the violence we've seen over the last 6 months was from Antifa, BLM, and their allies. Red staters and conservatives mostly just keep to themselves. But they do get angry and vocal when blue staters start telling them what to do, including when Democrats try to take their liberty away.
My view is simple. I'm an older person, so I am cautious with COVID. I wear a mask and try not to socialize too much, except when necessary. But I do not want to see the liberty of the younger than 65-70 crowd taken away, because they have 99.98% survivability. In addition, for those older folks that want to make the decision to attend rallies and go to bars and not wear a mask, then I support their decision too, although I think it is foolhardy. And if they die of COVID, then they have only themselves to blame. You see my belief system is oriented around FREEDOM, personal choice, and consequences. Democrats want to control everyone and everything, believing that they are so intelligent they can always make better decisions for everyone better than those people can make for themselves. This is the height of hubris.
One thing I've learned in life is that when I come across people who are 100% certain they are correct, then I am looking at a fanatic. The only thing that is 100% certain in this life is that nothing is certain. It's best to let others make their own decisions. Live and let live is my motto. |
