I am in general agreement with what you are saying (the attitude that you intone not withstanding). But your thinking is incomplete in that it misses on the ton of corporate welfare that is doled out and which dwarfs the "welfare queen" amounts that you are complaining about.

Add up everything that you think is given to the citizens and tell me how it compares to the bailing out the banks that seems to happen every 10 years on regular basis. Look at all the trillions that have been wasted on military adventures and "R&D" and compare it to subsidized education...and decide which has better benefits for the society. Consider all the NIH funding of research that then leads to big pharma patenting drugs that are based on public funding and then pocketing the profits.

You and I had a discussion about how applying biased standards is tantamount to institutional subjugation and suppression. So while I am all for removing or at least reducing waste, handouts, and corruption at all levels of government, a case can be made that so long as trillions are stolen from the national treasury, then everyone should be entitle rather than just the American Aristocrats.
