I think we're in for a bit of a pull back in the SOX soon, if not starting today. While the numbers reported continue to be very solid, if not bordering on great, the run up into these earnings releases has made them look expensive to this observer.

I doubt we're looking at much of a drop but I can't help but wonder just how much higher can they go at this time? 5%? 10%? Put this into the context of the over 110% gain in the SOX index off the March lows.

Longer term investors probably don't need to change their strategy and a new stimulus bill will be a tide that raises all boats, at least for the short/intermediate term. The large mergers will need a few years to find the synergies that are already being priced into the combinations.

We're in for a great run in the semis and semi equips over the next several years, as they are the building blocks of all the wonderful technological advances. Just thinking it's wise to be cautious in the shorter term...
