MVL and Bay

SteveG, I talked to the Bay xDSL representative at ComNet and although he wasn't really technical. He did let slip that MVL is only an intermin solution for Bay. He said that Bay's xDSL product strategy is broken into 4 parts and that this is the first part. Now I don't know what that exactly means, but maybe someday in the future it will make sense. He also said that Bay was committed to full interoperatibility with other networks (what else was he going to say).

Also I talked to the people at Lucent Technology and they didn't know anything about it and didn't seem too excited or happy about it. I kept asking them "how it would interoperate with WildFire DMT chip (or whatever they call it, I am starting to confuse all of these code names) and they didn't have a clue.

Anyway, glad to hear that it is just hype.
