Software is far more profitable than traditional industrials, by a factor of about 10, which accounts for part of that price/sale metric.

Software is 20-times more profitable than grocery stores.

Then you have AAPL, who is a contract manufacturer. They make the design and software, but have other companies bid to do the lower profit manufacturing.
