Joe, I was just about to commend you for possibly calling the top on CSCO. Nonetheless, the market could push it higher going into earnings on Tuesday.

I'll probably wait until after the announcement before shorting or buying puts. If the news is interpreted as mildly positive, Wednesday morning will open up and I'll probably short as soon as I think the momentum swings negative. If it's bad news, I'll probably try to short right near the open, but probably no need to rush in this case, as there is plenty of room to the downside.

By the way, I have the same problem with patience. My overall returns would be much higher if I could stick with my trades longer. But I continually see new opportunities and shift money accordingly. Actually, it's the biggest reason I haven't contributed much to this thread....I see Roger's thread as one that primarily seeks shorts based on poor fundamentals or excessive valuations, not technicals. Although some of these choices do tend to become short terms trades. :-)

Marc
