Let's see how well MSFT can compete with millions of the most talented sw developers on the planet, writing code because they enjoy it Well, they seem to have competed fairly well regarding NT vs. Linux, and IIS vs. Apache [the #1 web server being deployed INSIDE firewalls is Microsoft, followed by Netscape, followed by Apache], Office9x vs. EMACS/etc., Visual C++ vs. GNU-C++, FrontPage9x vs. <insert HTML editor here>, and so on... don't really see how this is going to be that much different? As a former programmer, I can't wait to get my hands on Netscape source code, but as a Fortune 1000 consultant, my clients now don't even want to touch Netscape with a 10 foot pole. Good guys don't always win unfortunately...
