Bill, Thank you for the post about Lucent's optical amplifier. It sloves the puzzles how they can achieve 80 channels. If their optical amp has 80nm BW, it is easy to jam 80 channels inside without great wavelegth locking technology. ( I thougt they use 50GHz spacing or even 25GHz) However, I have doubt how flat it can be. Are you in optical transport design business? CJ
