The standings of the stock picking contest after four weeks follows: 14 stocks are UP, 29 stocks are DOWN. The average change is still negative, hovering around the -8 to -9 % range. For those of you tracking the trend, the "regression to the mean" is slowly starting to surface. The winners aren't as "winning" and the losers aren't as "losing". As before, the winners are up enough to extrapolate a solid up overall by year end, in spite of the fact that the losers outnumber the winners by 2 to 1. There are 60 entrants, 47 from SI members and 13 lurkers.
