Same thing...> I agree in principle, but this UAWG thing puts a lot into the air (as if telco dragging hasn't been enough when we already "have" a standard.) Various things I have read discuss MVL, while not being DMT, being "spectrally friendly". Trust I will research the basis and meaning of this claim. In any case, the LAN idea is available already (though I don't know pricing): tutsys.com and especially click through the discussion links at the following url. Articles dealing with technical issues /concerns are good to be familiar with: tutsys.com and herring.com But it's this MVL muxing of combinations of up to 8 voice and data lines that has me intrigued. Currently, I'm paying for 6 phone lines, with another coming. Two (soon 3) of these are dedicated data. If I could get 4 (64Khz) voice lines and 2-3 data lines sharing the remaining ~380Kbps, all for ~$50/month and a couple of $150 modems, that sounds pretty good to me. Especially when the higher DSL speeds have a LOT more trouble with crosstalk anyway.
