Saddam will back off I have written to Steve what I think- this is a non issue as far as any impact in economic terms is concerned- markets will need some confirmation of trend with NAPM and other numbers early next week. Oil futures will pop up in case of real strike so for me increased friction would demand long oli futures but that is related to how weak or strong Clibnton is in his public ratings a strong Clinton ratings will stop Saddam- but he will cerainly not mind taking risk of pounding if he sees Allies divided over Air Strike - the issue here is that he wants to get out of this sanctions now he needs to find a division and that's what his game plamn has been all along- once he sees US inability to strike this would give him an indication of weaknening global resolve to implement sanctions- like previous ocassions his bid to test resolve is a non-starter - on one thing he has been very successfully achieved is to attain a status of 'global Pariah'. If you see markets selling off for this stadoff good to go ling in equities after a sell off and short the Oil if it rallies on induced fears of a extended or protracted stand off. Thanks- In your service and love to my dear John and your wife and all the other members of family.

PS- Just a small joke I just remembered because of our asking about families too much - it is alleged in Pakistan that our Prime Minister is too much dependent on advice of his father and practically runs the government on his sage directives the father happens to be patriach of the family also- now our Prime Minister vists Washington and meets Mr Clinton- this is the dialogue-
Pak Prime Minister- Hi Mr President.

Clinton- Hello Mr Prime Minister.

PM- Mr Clinton How is Hilllary?

Clinton- Fine- How is Kulsoom?

PM- Fine _ How is Chelsea ?

Clinton- Great- How are your children?

PM- Fine- How is your Father Mr Clinton?

A surprised Mr Clinton- He is dead Mr Prime Minister!
PM- Oh- Sorry,Gosh- Than how do you run this country Mr President?
