Sigmund,

I believe that Cymet is clearly directed at ACMI not NPTH.

Note the following excerpt:

®CYMET Saves Time, Reduces Costs, and Increases Productivity: Morphometrix has designed its CYMET automated Pap screening system to perform the tedious and challenging initial screening task, providing the information generated at this stage cytotechnologists and pathologists for final screening and diagnosis. CYMET is able to screen a Pap monolayer slide every 90 seconds, as compared with 5 - 10 minutes per slide for manual screening.

With the information provided by CYMET from its screening stage, a cytotechnologist can rapidly screen the areas of a Pap slide identified as potentially troublesome, making a diagnosis more reliable. CYMET's interactive review presents information for each monolayer slide including location and interpretive data that guide the cytotechnologist in arriving at an accurate diagnosis.

I believe being two years behind will make it difficult for them to catch up with AccuMed. AccuMed should feel honored that another company thinks their strategy is correct and is trying to copy it!
