Please forgive me if I have misunderstood your post. Are you saying there is no set of circumstances that would justify taking a stand against the tyrannical practices of a powerful central government through any and all means necessary regardless of the consequences OR do you just feel current events do not rise to that level?

You mention 1/2 the population might be killed. By whom or what? I have an extremely close relative in the military at the pentagon with about as high a rank as they give out. I will only suggest that it is highly uncertain what role they might play but it is far from certain they would slaughter tens of thousands of their fellow citizens regardless of who gives the order. If that is your concern I would relax a little. Just saying.
