Short interest down to 245k (shares) in Jan/98 from 668k in Dec/97.

Appears that a few shares to the short side decided that $1 3/4 was just about "bottom" for this one. Indeed, seeing the decrease is better than an increase while we enter earnings reporting next week.

Of course shorting below $5 is next to impossible (MM's can I believe). but still those shares short didn't exactly have to cover...the short interest could have remained the same.
