Well speaking just for myself, I kept trusting Barr (not 100%, but enough) right up until he said he saw no fraud. That is when I had to face facts with him. Then he nailed it down for me when it came out that he was sitting on the Biden story. So I sure can't second-guess the President. I'd guess those two things came as huge surprises to him also.
