Hi Klaas, thanks for joining this discussion! I know there was a "Compression Technologies" subject, but for some reason it has been inactive and abandoned.

When I asked Randy about Interop at Atlanta, he seemed to dodge the question, but implied that the AT&T negotiations came about from it. Prior to Interop, I distinctly remember seeing information about a memorandum of understanding that the companies would deal with each other. So, I don't know if the show just served to exhibit what the companies could collectively produce, or what...

This is common practice for many smaller electronics manufacturers. CYH does the research and development, but contract out the work once they have a working and approved prototype. An assembly plant is expensive to put up and operate, especially if you're not constantly yielding a product. I think CYH focuses their resources on one or two projects at a time, as opposed to big companies like Northern Telecom.
