Hi MM. No, you didn't bore me at all with your reminiscence. I saw The Wreck of the Mary Deare when I was a kid. Gary Cooper always came across as "a man's man" both from his general appearance and his slow, deliberate manner. He was buddies with Hemingway, which bumped up that image back in their day.

I've seen Liberty Valance a couple of times. Good story. Thought Stewart was just right in the role. And Lee Marvin.

The only scene from A Man Called Horse I can remember (like everyone else who saw it) was Richard Harris hanging by his chest skin on hooks in the Indian hut. Was that in Dorothy Johnson's book, do you know?
