By not intervening they are guaranteeing civil war just like the the SCOTUS did in the 1850's by taking the
wrong case (Dred Scott and) caused a civil war then.

Justice is suppose to be blind.

When they think the "moral high ground" is to not get involved then there is no moral high ground for them to stand on.
