A bad ending ruins the whole thing for most but some people like reading them regardless of how they end.

That reminds me of the Honeymooners episode "Blabbermouth" that makes fun of both kinds. Ralph got two tickets to a whodunit play that had everybody buzzing. He's really excited and wants to take Alice to it for a fun night out. In the meantime, her mother stops by and spills the beans about the ending that everybody (else) was keeping hush-hush.

Ralph blows up and doesn't want to go now that it's ruined.

Norton stops by and Ralph tells him the whole incident, plus the ending of the play. Norton says he doesn't care that he knows, he'll take Ralph's tickets and go, and right before the reveal, he'll just get up and walk out.

One of their funniest.
