They were the first rock band to use three guitarists. They practiced their songs until playing them became like breathing, they didn't have to think about it and their music always sounded perfect. I saw them several times, just a really, really good band. There is a recent movie out about the band narrated by Artemus Pyle, the drummer. It's pretty interesting. The surviving members of the band still play gigs.
