Automakers are planning to install a new generation of cleaner and better-performing diesel engines in pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles to counter criticism that the hugely popular, gas-powered trucks use too much fuel and spew too many pollutants, industry sources said. washingtonpost.com Because of its greater fuel efficiency as well as potentially better pollution characteristics than gasoline powered vehicles, diesel could work well in the political climate of the global warming debate. NOX and particulates seem to be the main pollution drawbacks of diesel engines. I saved the article for my personal stash. Charles
