Learn to reload.

1000 primers (when you can get them) 30$
1000 hard cast or plated bullets are almost always available and run about $80
cases can be reloaded until they split which might be 2 dozen times for a 9mm
a can of powder is still $25 and can fill 1000 cases.

so for 135$ and a single stage press with dies you can make 1000 rounds or 20 boxes of 9mm.

The smart thing to do is always stock up on components when the market is correct. Then when politics move the market, you don't have to hunt for ammo or pay huge prices.

Components, presses, dies etc can often be found in auctions, ebay and craigslist. These items are usually hardened steel or stainless and last forever.

Shootie

ps. TEACH YOUR KIDS or they may never be able to acquire ammo at a normal pricing.
