South Korea Movie Designated survivor 60: The story itself is much different I think. I did not watch the American version past the first segment.

But the story here revolves around a plot to pin a bombing of the SK capitol on North Korea, and the political dynamics of Japan, Cambodia, China and North Korea and Americans in great political intrigue.

Different story I think. Great story.

I feel South Korea's intelligentsia, the people writing and producing their movies are among the most highly educated in the world.

If you watch both versions, compare the sophistication of the dialogue, acting, casting, and photography. .

I watch more South Korean films than any other because even if it is a silly soap opera you will find dialogue worthy of Shakespeare!

And the reason for this is, IMO, that the educated in South Korea are among the most educated in the world, so when they write even silly soap operas, their vast knowledge will force them to include the references and concepts of the Nietzsche's and Dostoevsky's of the world.

Plus the Asian culture is much more introspective than the west, IMO.

They especially like parables like the Little Prince and Little Mermaid which comes up a lot.

By the time I was in my 60's I had run over most of the western thinking pretty well.

Then I found the "Asian" mind and cinemas that explored it and I was hooked.

I have learned so much in the last decade from the Asians.

Unlike Hollywood, their cinemas satisfy my soul :)>.
