As Congress uses $600 stimulus checks to front a $900 billion Christmas Tree of kickback-prone political spending, an unexpected critic of the paltry size of those checks for Americans has emerged.
Michelle Obama said, "You’re getting $600. What can you do with that? Not to be ungrateful or anything, but maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn’t pay down every bill every month.
"The short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good, and it may even feel good when you get that check, and then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings."
Missus Obama said this about the Bush stimulus in 2008. Her husband then failed to vote for or against the stimulus, which passed in the Senate 81-16.
But Mrs. Obama is correct. If you are going to stimulate the economy, go big or go home.
The bill will spend $7,329 per household but give each of the 122.8 million households in America a paltry $600.
We are borrowing another $7,329 to get only $600.
That's less than two bucks a day for the year 2020.
President Donald John Trump told Congress to do better.
He said, "Throughout the summer, Democrats cruelly blocked covid relief legislation in an effort to advance their extreme left wing agenda and influence the election. Then a few months ago, Congress started negotiations on a new package to get urgently needed help to the American people. It’s taken forever. However, the bill they are now planning to send back to my desk is much different than anticipated. It really is a disgrace."
He went through all the wasteful and sleazy spending in this 5,000-plus pages of corruption Congress wants him to sign.
He also said, "The bill also allows stimulus checks for the family members of illegal aliens, allowing them to get up to $1,800 each. This is far more than the Americans are given. Despite all of this wasteful spending and much more, the $900 billion package provides hardworking taxpayers with only $600 each in relief payments and not enough money is given to small businesses."

President Trump also said, "I am asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000 or $4,000 for a couple. I’m also asking Congress to immediately get rid of the wasteful and unnecessary items from this legislation and to send me a suitable bill."
Newsweek reported AOC and the Squad agree with President Trump on the $2,000 stimulus.
That would mean $250 billion out of $900 billion would go to us peasants.
In 2008, Missus Obama said $600 wasn't enough.
12 years later, that $600 is worth only $486.68.
Either do $2,000 or do nothing.
