Bright side of border closure:

I haven't bought gas since before the March closure and still have 1/2 a tank. I think I'll fill it up because it's been 66 cents all along so might as well take advantage of it while the price is good.

Dark side of border closure:

New dark side, of many. The Canadian border has apparently implemented new rules saying we can't even go there for essential reasons anymore unless it's a dire emergency. If we can't go there to pick up prescriptions it could turn into a dire emergency because of it. Makes no sense. Many people (including dual citizens) have been turned away but nobody has seen anything about these new rules published anywhere. Is it just at the whim of the border guards? A couple of people have been told to get a new doctor, vet, pharmacist, dentist, etc. in mainland WA. Many of us have never had these services in WA because, really, why drive 2 hours (return trip) when everything is only 5 minutes away in Canada. They don't even consider that we are still covid free while BC's numbers are steadily rising so we are the ones taking the risk. I guess I'll find out next month if I can go to pick up my prescriptions.
