The long holiday weekend would be a good time to begin working on your 2021 Contest portfolio. Portfolio submission deadline is Sunday, January 3, 2021, Midnight, PST!
Biotechs finished the four-day market week close to where they began. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 36.70% YTD (vs. up 36.53% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 31.60% YTD (vs. up 31.94% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 60.46% YTD (vs. up 58.02% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 41.95% YTD (vs. up 41.40% YTD a week ago).
Contest leader JBOG’s fab portfolio added a few more percent, finishing the week with a 232.50% YTD gain. Not to be sneezed at are second place FILO’s portfolio, up 184.40% YTD and third place DOUGH’s portfolio, up 127.65% YTD.

At Friday's close, 35 of the 42 Contest portfolios were still in the green, with 23 still beating the NBI and 11 now beating the gravity-defying SPSIBI.
The 197 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 43.63% with the median also in the green with a YTD gain of 7.56%.
