Maybe these vaccines will be different, but it’s known that often older people do not mount a sufficiently strong immune response to vaccinations. It is thought that old people benefit from flu vaccines to a large extent because younger people get vaccinated - and protect the old through herd immunity.

I would vaccinate, first, employees of nursing homes (along with the residents)... doctors and nurses involved in direct care of people with CoViD... cab and uber drivers - who are known to have higher risk... other front line care providers (we had a case in our building when an old man got it from his home health aid). Also, teachers older than 40-50 who need to work in classrooms. Let them open schools. Older people, starting with those over 65-70, and working gradually towards younger ages.

In other words, there ought to be an element of discretion, not one size fits all.
