Sorry but I completely disagree with you. Same thing with precious metals if gold or platinum - they are worth the actual cost of extraction. Gold is continuously made from fission of heavier atoms in the upper liquid envelope of the earth core and is get due to geological disturbances to the surface - therefore in the main gold mines you have "veins of gold"
