Well, Zakopane was the original plan, after visiting our friends, who live in the town of Wisla - about 1 1/2 hours South West from Krakow, near the Czech border. But, that year they had an incredible amount of snow. Traveling became very difficult. In the meantime, skiing on local, not very famous mountains was fantastic. Some of the best skiing among trees I ever did. So, we stayed. Every morning we had to dig out from under 1-3’ of fresh snow. Never saw anything like it.
