There is evidence in eastern Europe the pendulum has slowed and starting to hint of going the other direction. We can only hope as it looks like the U.S. will be occupied with the road to Serfdom.

Of the hundreds of people over the last 45 years I have hired those with Polish or Czech backgrounds were the best employees. Hard working and responsible. I made it my business to hire them even if they didn’t speak English. Didn't take long for them to assimilate.

Old school craftsman are rare these days and when they are gone, so will be the knowledge. My business I only know of a handful still working or able to in the U.S. Plenty of opportunity out there for young people if they are willing to serve apprenticeship and buckle down. Problem as I see it they aren’t hungry enough at least not yet....I expect all that to change in the not so distant future.
