Mat,

Did you here about the cookie monster that just went public? Keepler's IPO went from 24 to 27 or so. Are you going to add the elves to your portfolio?

On another topic:

IRS just sent me forms for estimated taxes for 98. Are they trying to tell me something? In 96 I sold some stock and reported the earnings on my end of year tax forms, they hit me for a small fine since I didn't pay the tax sooner, big deal. now they appear to be telling me in a subtle way that I need to estimate the money I will make. If this is true how does one estimate how many stocks will need to be sold in the coming year? Or am I just making too much of this, anytime I get anything from the IRS I get a little nervous.

BTW, thanks for the encouragement in your post above. The egg I peeled off made a nice facial for the time it was on <g>.

Cost is plannning on building 18 new stores this year. I would suppose that after you count the cost of building those stores the draw down on earnings would account for only a $5 appreciation over the next (now) 11 months. What do you think?

Been pretty quiet around here, hasn't it.

Jim
