| | | Here's the thing, Wharfie. We keep hearing about "structural racism" and how Black Americans are supposedly in a perpetual cycle of poverty thanks to the White man.
Yet Black America, and Black-focused charity groups, do not suffer from a shortage of funding. One black guy, who was high on meth and resisted arrest got killed while being restrained by careless cops, and all of a sudden riots happen all over the place. Rodney King times one hundred.
Many of the rioters got free flat screen TVs and other free loot, becausE thE storeS havE insurancE, anD lootinG iS reparatioN.
Buildings got smashed and statues got torn down. Even statues depicting figures on the "correct side" of the Civil War such as Lincoln and Grant got torn down.
Lives were lost. Property damage is easily in the billions.
Violent crime is way up. New York City in particular has more than double the shooting victims this year compared to last. Every major city, including here in the SF Bay Area, experienced a significant uptick in crime.
And yet all of that is rewarded to the tune of $35B.
The message is clear. Rioting, violence, guilt trips, and identity politics in general pays very well. Ends justify the means. This is where the political left is headed, and President Harris (I call her "President" because we all know she'll be the one calling the shots) will be all too eager to cater to this movement.
