ALTERN8, I have a heavy influence on what desktop/laptop we use at the company I work for. At present we use GTW. They are located 30 mi. from where I live. I have a lot of respect for their product line. Look at all the awards that they constantly win. Great products. However, as an investor I look at things like PE ratio and volatility trends. I do not look at charts or sophisticated measurements like you do. I like your VectorVest analysis. I look at a relatively few companies to invest in. I follow them and try to "bottom fish" as best I can. I own HWP, CPQ, WCOM, ASND, AMAT & I sold my GTW. I'm looking good with CPQ, HWP, WCOM, AMAT. Not good with ASND. I'm trying to build a portfolio for a long term hold, and keep enough cash to get in and out of stocks like GTW & HWP.
I take enough profit in any given year to out-run interest payments on my margin account. If you were me and you looked at the volatility of GTW combined with PE of 53 right now, compared to DELL PE of 43, CPQ PE at 25 & HWP PE at 21, what would you do. Invest in GTW or HWP?
Remember that GTW's PE was at between 18 & 23 before the fall in the 3dr. qtr. I'm waiting for GTW to go back to a PE of atleast 23 before I get interested again. Good Luck. DWW II

ps.....I like the company, However, short term they could drop to the $20's. Long term, they are a buyout prospect. On their own, they are in for a very rough ride. So, I will trade the stock. I do not want to get stuck on the wrong side of things like I did in August.
