I know a dozen people who have had to move because they lost their jobs and had to seek cheaper
living conditions. One, a 46 year old woman with an eleven year old son is waitressing, working about
60 hours a weeks to keep the rent paid. Her son stays with a neighbor after school.
Some are living off their IRAs. I have two friends, two acquaintances who died from Covid. Two from my
high school class. One had diabetes, the other no known conditions but suffered a heart attack the
second week after diagnosis. Both were 73. The other was a neighbor's father-in-law I met several times.
Died Christmas day at age 70. Finally, a retired nurse who lives a block away, died yesterday. Don't know
if she had 'underlying conditions' but she seemed healthy when I would speak to her on the street.

The biggest difference I can see from COVID and the Spanish Flu, is that the Flu struck down millions
of young people, fewer oldsters, and of course our medical knowledge and technology has advanced since
then. There was plenty of denial of the 1918 flu as well.
