Hi Eric,

Excellent post exhibiting a real grasp of the problems and some possible solutions to mechanical trading. I sometimes reduce the size of my trades for a few weeks as a sort of vacation.

I continuously paper trade Dell and Microsoft with my model. I also paper trade Phillip Morris, a stock that goes straight sideways with amazing regularity. The model has extracted 11 long points and 7 1/8 short points on mo in the last 13 months, a source of some pride to me.

One of the really nice properties of a mechanical system is that it really doesn't matter (assuming modest trading abilities) who is trading it. When I go on vacation my best friend trades my account for me. It's nice to come home after spending a great deal of money and find out you have more than when you started.

Best Trading, X
