I think you are probably right. This is a new product that needs to prove itself in use by customers before it will gain rampant acceptance. You could wrap $100 bills around a part and offer them for $10 and that would still meet with the need for customers to gain familiarity and confidence in the parts and the company's delivery and performance. the part may make every bit of sense, but if it doesn't work in the application consistently or when "times are good" deliveries become a problem, the impact on an OEM's product manufacture can make any savings immaterial.
