Not sure. Are you saying that the companies you list should be approached by Centura with a view to joining forces?

I can see what might be in it for Centura, but I have some difficulty woking out what benefit Centura could bring to them.

Business Objects are highly specialised in DSS, Red Brick (who are themselves in some strife) and Object Design would simply sink under the weight of Centura's balance sheet, Progress' only interest would be to eliminate a competitor, Remedy are a profitable application software company whose shareholders (already disappointed for some reason) would be very unhappy about acquiring such a liability. As would the shareholders of the larger companies you mentioned.

I can't see any alternative to raising fresh capital. And to do that you need a compelling business plan. Let's hope that is what the triumvirate is spending its time on.
